A New Jersey man, considered armed and dangerous, is wanted for brutally attacking a woman at Hackensack University Medical Center in Bergen County.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella issued a statement announcing charges against Nicholas Pagano, 31, of 968 Kings Highway, Apartment 16, in West Deptford, of attempted murder, aggravated arson, aggravated assault, and unlawful weapons possession.

Pagano may be driving a 1998 white Jeep Grand Cherokee with black roof racks, with the New Jersey license plate number, S57 NJH.

He is accused of attacking a 54-year old hospital employee inside of a break room with a wrench and then burning her before fleeing the hospital, according to the investigation findings of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and Hackensack Police.

Hackensack Police received a 911 call around 5:15 am on Monday.

Prosecutor Musella said that the hospital employee victim in the attack suffered third-degree burns over her upper body, face, and hands, as well as a laceration to her head that required stitches.

She was treated in the ER and then brought to another medical facility, for additional treatment for her burns and injuries.

In full, Pagano is charged with first- 2 degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated arson against the person, second-degree aggravated arson against the property, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Prosecutor Musella said that Pagano "should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public."
